Myia S Williams , Ph.D., is a Research Industrial/Organizational Psychologist for designing innovative Employee Experience (EE) programs and initiatives to align with and advance EE goals. More specifically, as a survey design expert she brings to life data by capturing the moments that matter through employee life cycle surveys and transforming insights into actional strategies that create a positive employee experience for 85,000+ employees. As a distinguished science practitioner, specializes in occupational health psychology, delving into the intricate world of employee experiences related to stress, burnout, workplace ostracism, and DEIA (microaggressions, intersectionality, racism and discrimination). In addition to her work in employee experience/listening, Dr Williams is actively involved in research around support systems and challenges that impacted healthcare professionals during COVID-19 and developing interventions (e.g. mindfulness based stress reduction interventions) that could help reduce stressors, and burnout in healthcare professionals. She also provides evidence-based solutions based on her research on organizational and interpersonal factors, such as workplace policies/culture, workplace ostracism and discrimination, that impact the diversification of the physician workforce (primarily women, and racial/ethnic minorities, including immigrants) and affect patient safety. Dr Williams collaborates with a group of scientists, physicians, psychologists, health economists and others to analyze large data sets and use findings to develop and evaluate new health care technologies and behavioral interventions for improving community health and reducing the prevalence of chronic illness often from the vantage point of racial/ethnic minority and immigrant patient populations or communities. In addition, she provides internal scientific consultation in research design, qualitative and quantitative analysis, needs assessment, survey development, psychometrics, data safety and monitoring, manuscript development, and grant proposal writing. From 2023 – 2019, Dr Williams has received a number of awards including Researcher-In Training Award and Educational Advancement Award and most recently the Career Advancement Award from AWSM (pronounced awesome) (Advancing Women in Science and Medicine) for her work on immigrant populations, employee experience and DEIA.
