Ever since Minnow’s Gran went missing a year ago, strange things have been happening: a wild orca keeps following her along the beach, her senses are more powerful, and she might be turning into a fish!

Minnow finds peace at the local aquarium, where she meets Celia, an aspiring marine biologist. Together, they untangle the mystery of her newfound powers and discover a connection to her grandmother’s past.
When they learn that the new pipeline project in the area could have a devastating impact on the Resident orcas, Minnow uses her new powers and new friendships to make waves of change and discovers that even the smallest fish can make a difference.

Willie Poll is a Métis author from the Robinson Huron Treaty Territory (Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada) and a proud member of the Métis Nation of Ontario. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Indigenous studies and a Master of Arts in archaeology. She grew up with a close relationship to her Métis grandpa who filled her with stories that connected her to her ancestors and culture. Willie has worked in Indigenous education across the Nation for over 10 years. Her stories are her feelings, emotions, and her tribute to the youth in her life. Willie currently resides on Prince Edward Island as a guest on the traditional lands of the Wabanaki and Mi’kma’ki people; however, she lives a nomadic lifestyle and has had the opportunity to be a guest in many places across Turtle Island. Emily Graceanna Pearson is a Dakelh illustrator from the Stellat'en First Nation. She grew up in her traditional territories, which are located in the northern interior of BC. In 2016, she moved to Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh territories to study Biology, where she continues to reside. Emily's artwork reflects her passion for ecology, for the land, and for Indigenous land stewardship but also her love for whimsy – fairies, fantasy and magic.
