In the early 1990s Russia began its transition to a market economy, and in response Russian universities started to import Western-style economics programs. This book analyzes the Russian education system's interpretation of Western economics as a field of study, against a background of long-standing Soviet socialist dogma.
Tatiana Suspitsuna is currently a Visiting Assistant Professor in higher education at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign.
