Women and families within the criminal justice system (CJS) are increasingly the focus of research and this book considers the timely issues concerning experiences of punishment, abuse and justice. A companion to the first edited collection, Critical Reflections on Women, Family, Crime and Justice, the book sheds new light on the challenges and experiences of women and families who encounter the CJS.

Natalie Booth is Senior Lecturer in Criminology at Bath Spa University and Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. Isla Masson is a criminologist and Researcher at the Open University and Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. Lucy Baldwin is Associate Professor at Durham University and Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and the Royal Society of Arts. The editors co-founded and are convenors of the international research network Women, Family, Crime and Justice (WFCJ).
