A hilarious and heart-warming story about what happens when bug-obsessed Evie decides to bring all her creepy crawly friends . . . inside.
The Girl Who Loves Bugs is a hilarious and heart-warming story empowering young girls to always be curious, from superstar writer Lily Murray and Waterstones Prize-winning illustrator, Jenny Løvlie.

Evie loves bugs. And she's fed up of having to keep up with her mums and brother on walks when she'd rather be peering under logs and examining snails. So, one day, she decides to bring the bugs inside, so she can be with them all the time. The problem is, the family is coming to stay, even fearsome Great Gran, who doesn't stand for any nonsense. And on the day of their arrival, Evie wakes up to find her bugs have escaped . . . all over the house! What is Great Gran going to say?

A beautiful, bug-filled story about following your dreams, and the unconditional love of family. With ideas and tips at the back for looking after some of your own bugs (outside!).

Jenny Løvlie grew up in Northern Norway on Ekkerøy, a tiny peninsula sticking out into the Barents Sea, where she was the first child to be born in twelve years. Jenny studied Illustration and Animation at Kingston University in London, and graduated with a BA Hons in 2014. She draws inspiration from the wild landscapes of Scandinavia, nordic folklore and Scandinavian design. In 2019, Jenny won the Waterstones Children's Book Prize for best illustrated book for The Girls, written by Lauren Ace. Her favourite things are going on adventures in her van, camping, bird-watching, cooking and reading. Lily Murray grew up in the wilds of snowy nowhere, spending much of her time making up stories. She has continued to do this in her adult life, and now writes both fiction and non-fiction books for children. Her titles include: Dinosaur Department Store and Hello Hotdog, Monet's Cat and Dinosaurium. For Macmillan she has collaborated with Julia Woolf to create Mr Badger's Christmas Wish and Little Bunny's Easter Surprise, as well as A Dress With Pockets with Jenny Løvlie.
