She is the author of The Essence of Artificial Intelligence (Prentice Hall), and Explanation and Interaction (MIT Press). RICK DEWAR is a Lecturer in Computer Science at Heriot-Watt University. His current research interests include Software Engineering and Knowledge Management. Previous roles have included being a Rolls Royce engineer, a university researcher, and a lecturer in information management at Napier University.
