This interactive CD-ROM aims to help teach essential physical examination skills. Through the use of a tactile sensory device, students experience sight, sound and "touch-sensation" with each clinical case. Upon choosing a case, the student is presented with a patient's case history, including a chief complaint and the appropriate anatomy, that can be "touched" with the sensory device. Then students can "ask" the patient selected questions and after completing the examination, select a diagnosis for which both correct and incorrect choices have rationales. Five different modules are available for individual purchase or purchase as a collection: abdominal, cardiovascular, neurological, pulmonary, and respiratory. An additional module containing ten cases to test a student's physical examination skills across all body systems is also available for individual purchase or as part of the larger collection.
