This book examines the state of art in disability studies, focusing on the Indian context, as well as the broader South Asian situation. Nilika Mehrotra is a Professor at the Centre for the Study of Social Systems, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. Prior to this, she taught sociology at Delhi School of Economics, University of Delhi. She specializes in the issues of gender, disability, social policy, and historical analysis of the economic and social development processes.
