Distributive justice has come to the fore in political philosophy in recent decades: how should we arrange our social and economic institutions so as to distribute fairly the benefits and burdens of social cooperation? Thirty-two leading figures from philosophy and political theory present specially written critical assessments of the state of research on a broad range of questions about distributive justice. Serena Olsaretti is a political philosopher based at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona, where she holds a research professorship with ICREA, the Catalan Institute of Research and Advanced Studies. She is the author of Liberty, Desert and the Market (2004) and the editor of Desert and Justice (2003) and Preferences and Well-Being (2006).
