Michael Burns is a film-maker whose works include histories of the Surrey and Yorkshire county clubs and four documentaries for MCC, one of which, 'A Gentleman Cricketer', won the 2008 Cricket Society Media Award. Other productions in the MCC series include: 'England’s Finest – On Tour with Hutton’s Men', 'Cape Summer – MCC’s 1956/7 Tour to South Africa' and 'Shifting Boundaries', an impressionistic look at English cricket in the 1960s. He has written two biographies: 'A Flick of the Fingers', about the renegade Edwardian cricketer Jack Crawford, and 'Endean', about the South African Test cricketer of the 1950s.
