A teaching and learning enthusiast, Dr Jan Buley works at the Faculty of Education at Laurentian University, Canada. She received her PhD from the Steinhardt School at New York University, for which she examined the assumptions, beliefs and contradictions associated with family engagement in schools. David Buley is Associate Professor of Music Education in the Concurrent School of Education at Laurentian University in Sudbury, Ontario, Canada. He is the founding director of the Young Sudbury Singers, a choir for ages 7–17, and Octatonic Decadence, an a cappella group dedicated to presenting high quality choral music. A practitioner of Jaques-Dalcroze Eurhythmics, David offers workshops in music education, choral music and vocal technique, as well as the worship arts. Rupert Collister has worked in post-compulsory education for over eighteen years, and his experience reflects the diversity of the sector in its broadest sense. His first book, A journey in search of wholeness and meaning, was published in 2010, and he is currently developing a holistic approach to curriculum for initial teacher education and for ongoing professional development.
