The main aim of this volume is to provide a flexible programme of training materials to help schools implement such issues as IT across the curriculum, economic awareness, equal opportunities, environmental issues and personal and social education.
Offering guidance to help teachers deliver cross-curricular issues in the National Curriculum, key stages 3 and 4, this manual is designed for use in the classroom as well as in the wider context of school management. The book is written as a partwork training resource, providing guidelines for implementing cross-curricular requirements and a framework in which to initiate and develop training, for INSET days or other training situations. The manual consists of a series of self-contained units. The first five provide advice on managing cross-curricular issues, citizenship education, multicultural issues, information technology across the curriculum and economic and industrial understanding. Further units will be published to be added to the manual, covering health education, equality of opportunity, environmental education and careers education and guidance. The pages can be removed and photocopied, both easing the task of training a large group and enabling the material to be adapted to suit particular situations or training needs.

Managing cross-curricular issues; citizenship education; multicultural issues; IT across the curriculum; economics and industrial understanding.
