It is based on the experience of those practitioners who regularly advise on Compulsory Purchase Orders (CPOs) and is intended to help acquiring authorities and others to navigate their way through the statutory procedures. However, it must be emphasized that the advice in this manual and the good practice does not purport to be an authoritative interpretation of the law, not should it be regarded as a definitive statement of Government policy by DETR. The CD-ROM contains the manual and appendices, plus the option of electronic consolidated leglisation relating to compulsory purchase.
