José Resende received his Doctorate in Sociology from the Faculty of Human and Social Sciences, New University of Lisbon in 2001, and is presently a Researcher at Forum Sociologico at the Permanent School Observatory of Instituto de Ciências Sociais, University of Lisbon.Maria Manuel Vieira received her Doctorate in Sociology in 1998. She is Associate Researcher, Institute of Social Sciences, University of Lisbon, and Former Vice-President of the Portuguese Sociological Association.
