This book is an anthology of speeches by African Americans, Mexican Americans, Native Americans, and white American females. The purpose of this anthology is to provide the reader with examples from the abundant amount of distinctive American-minority rhetoric available that has yet to be anthologized. Some of those minority orations are scattered in various locales through time. Burke has collected speeches of minorities who have been able to utilize America's public platform effectively while simultaneously battling against discrimination and racial prejudice.
