I dropped the ball and feel like a failure, or, I lost my job; I am useless. This is negative self-talk at its finest.
Negative thinking produces negative emotions, negative reactions, and negative behavior. Don't be a victim of circumstances; self-destroying lies will keep you from achieving true happiness.

● stop misbelief and replace it with truth
● stop being a victim of circumstances, events, and relationships
● lead a satisfying and fulfilling emotional life
● become the person you'd like to be

William Backus, PhD, founded the Center for Christian Psychological Services. Before his death in 2005, he was a licensed clinical psychologist and an ordained Lutheran clergyman. He wrote many books, including What Your Counselor Never Told You. Dr. Backus has conducted follow-up studies of his clients, which show a 95 percent improvement rate, compared to a 67 percent success rate for other methods of therapy. The difference, Dr. Backus says, is "the truth of God as revealed in the Word." In addition, he serves as an assistant pastor on the staff of North Heights Lutheran Church, Roseville, Minnesota, where he has founded and directed a lay-staffed free counseling clinic. He and his wife live in Minnesota.
