This volume continues the previous work of the author, entitled New Era Challenges Old Patterns: A World History, 1945ó1960 (UPA, 1981), beginning with man's first ventures into outer space in 1961, and covering such major events as African independence, the Cold War, Marxism in Latin America, and fratricide in the Middle East. The author explores the economic, political, scientific, and religious ramifications of the changes that occurred in the world from 1961 to 1970. An excellent textbook for introductory courses in history, or as a supplement to course readings in economics and political science.
