Since 2001, an international and interdenominational group of researchers at the Lateran University in Rome has been working on fundamental theological subjects from an interdenominational perspective. Their goal is an in-depth study of the structural principles of each of the two doctrinal traditions. Each of the two denominations is attempting to reconstruct the basic principles of its own and the other doctrinal tradition. In an act of methodological empathy, each side is trying to understand the position of the other doctrine from the inside. The main premise is the assumption of each side that, based on its own conviction and the common reality of baptism, their partners are referring to the same reality as they are, which is the revelation of the truth of the Gospel. This volume presents the results of the first phase of their work and is published simultaneously in Italian by Lateran University Press.
