Das Buch schildert Kontexte des Atoms. Es ist als Ergänzung zu bewährten Inhalten der Mechanik, Elektrodynamik und der Atomphysik konzipiert und als naturphilosophisches Angebot zu gängigen Prüfungsstoffen gedacht. Es fasst das Atom vor allem als Element einer Beschreibung und weniger als Instanz einer Begründung auf.
In dem phänomenologischen Zugang wird gezeigt, wie das Konzept des Atoms mögliche Wechselwirkungsprozesse mit der Umgebung in einen lokalen Beschreibungsansatz integriert und wie dabei elektrodynamische und elektrostatische Blickrichtungen verbunden werden.
Das Buch ist vollständig zweisprachig auf Deutsch und Englisch verfasst. Es bietet Lehrkräften und Schüler:innen vertiefendes Material zu den Physikepochen der 10., 11. und 12. Klasse an.
The book describes contexts of the atom. It is designed as a supplement to established content in mechanics, electrodynamics and atomic physics and is intended as a natural philosophy supplement to common examination material. It understands the atom primarily as an element of description and less as an instance of explanation.
The phenomenological approach shows how the concept of the atom integrates possible interaction processes with the environment into a local description approach and how electrodynamic and electrostatic perspectives are combined.
Wilfried Sommer’s professional work has its focus where University and High School meet: He is a full professor of school education with an emphasis on phenomenological methods of teaching, and is a High School teacher in physics.
