Michael Evans is Schools Project Manager at the International Centre of Excellence for Mathematics Education (Australian Mathematical Sciences Institute). He was Head of Mathematics at Scotch College for many years and has been heavily involved in curriculum development at both Victorian state and national levels. Michael is a highly experienced writer of mathematical texts and is a lead author on six of the Essential Mathematics titles. Kay Lipson is an Associate Professor at Swinburne University of Technology. She has many years experience teaching statistics at undergraduate and graduate level, as well as conducting courses in statistics for industry and government. She is a co-author of several current secondary mathematics texts. Professor Peter Jones has been an active supporter of school mathematics over many years and helped pioneer the introduction of graphics calculators into Victorian schools. Peter is a vastly experienced writer of mathematical texts and he is the lead author on two of the texts in the Essential maths series. His area of expertise is Applied Statistics.
