Within sacred music circles, Wharnsby is cited as a pioneer in the composition of English nasheed, hymns inspired by Qur’anic tradition. Some of his most popular works have been referenced in textbook publications affiliated with schools and universities in the USA, Canada, Europe, and the United Kingdom. Translations and musical transcriptions appear in songbooks worldwide. Working with production teams in several countries, Wharnsby has hosted numerous television programs and documentaries for both children and adults, often also composing their music. His handiwork as an artisan includes photography, painting, puppetry, storytelling, illustration, and film production.
