The author emphasizes that human beings are much more than sexual creatures, they are sexual creators. Following a model of sexual ethics, Guidon suggests four criteria for assessing the fruitfulness of sexual behavior of men and women. He then applies those criteria to the sexual life styles of heterosexual couples, family members, gays and lesbians, and voluntary celibates.
