Martin Griffin and Jon Mayhew's Storycraft: How to teach narrative writing is an inspiring and practical resource to support secondary school teachers in developing their students' creative writing.
An inspiring and practical resource to support secondary school teachers in developing their students’ creative writing.
At a time when the curriculum is becoming more and more about rote learning and memorisation, Storycraft provides teachers with engaging tasks around narrative writing that have been designed to boost learners’ confidence and cultivate their creativity.
Written by two fiction writers and English teachers with over 40 years’ combined experience in education, Storycraft will satisfy a hunger in classrooms beyond just those of English departments – helping pupils to problem-solve creatively and to carve out originality in their work. The book packs in expert advice relating to idea generation and the nature of story, as well as tips on effective pre-exam behaviours, neatly packaged together with off-the-peg activities that can be used in the classroom immediately.
