Sallie Walrond has driven and ridden since she was about nine years old. She is an international carriage driving judge and is the co-founder of the Tandem Club of Great Britain. She has shown harness horses with considerable success for many years and in 1975 she became the first whip to complete a three-day horse driving trial with a tandem. In 2001 she was given the Coachmakers Carriage Driving Award by the Worshipful Company of Coachmakers and Coach Harness Makers of London and was made a life vice-president of the British Driving Society.
