GISBERT L. BRUNNER, born in 1947, has been working with wristwatches, pendulum clocks, and other precision timekeeping instruments since 1964. During the quartz watch crisis in the 1970s, he discovered a new love for mechanical timepieces as well. His talent and passion for collecting chronographs led him to publish his first articles on the subject in magazines, including GQ, ZEIT Magazin, and Chronos, in the 1980s. He has since written more than twenty books about every aspect of the field.
Brunner, Gisbert L. Gisbert L. Brunner, Jahrgang 1947, beschäftigt sich seit 1964 mit Armbanduhren, Pendeluhren und anderen Präzisionszeitmessern. Während der Quarzuhren-Krise in den 1970er-Jahren steigerte sich die Liebe zu den mechanischen Zeitmessern zusätzlich. Sein leidenschaftliches Sammelhobby und große Fachkenntnis führten ab den frühen 1980er-Jahren zu ersten Artikeln in GQ, ZEIT Magazin und Chronos - und mehr als 20 Büchern über diese Materie. Der Münchner Journalist und Autor Christian Pfeiffer-Belli ist Chefredakteur von Klassik Uhren. Gegründet 1978, erscheint die Zeitschrift alle zwei Monate als einziges deutschsprachiges Magazin, das sich nur mit alten Uhren beschäftigt. Pfeiffer-Belli besitzt zudem ein sehr großes Fotoarchiv, woraus The Watch Book I bebildert wurde.
