This two-volume reference work provides information on the structures, physical properties and pharmacological actions of drugs. There are over 15,000 references allowing rapid access to additional data.Each entry is complete with a fully updated bibliography. The dictionary also contains five different indexes according to 'structure' and 'type of compound index' to facilitate searching. Over 6000 drugs are indexed, including those drugs listed in the 'British and American Pharmacopoeia' and the World Health Organisation's list of 'International Nonproprietary Names'. Compounds currently undergoing phase IV clinical trials are also listed and information is given on traditional folk remedies. Much of the physical data included has been extracted from patent literature.
