Tocharian and Indo-European Studies is the central publication for the study of two closely related languages, Tocharian A and Tocharian B. Found in many Buddhist manuscripts from central Asia, Tocharian dates back to the second half of the first millennium of the Common Era, though it was not discovered until the twentieth century. Focusing on both philological and linguistic aspects of this language, Tocharian and Indo-European Studies also looks at it in relationship to other Indo-European languages. This issue addresses topics such as the function and origin of the present suffix "-sk", verbal endings, the words for "fear" and "perfume", secular documents, and Tocharian glosses in Sanskrit manuscripts.

Birgit Anette Olsen is professor of Indo-European Linguistics at the Department of Nordic Studies and Linguistics at the University of Copenhagen, and previously leader of the five-year University of Copenhagen excellence programme Roots of Europe (20082013). She has published in particular about the Classical Armenian language and nominal word formation in Indo-European languages. Michaël Peyrot Michaël Peyrot is post-doc researcher at the University of Vienna on Tocharian and Indo-European linguistics. Georges-Jean Pinault is professor of linguistics at the Ecole pratique des hautes etudes, Paris. Thomas Olander, PhD, DPhil, is an associate professor of Indo-European Studies, University of Copenhagen. He is the author of Proto-Slavic inflectional morphology: A comparative handbook (2015) and Balto-Slavic accentual mobility (2009).
