Intended as a resource for those teachers involved in teaching Religious Education to children aged 7-11. The book is divided into chapters, each telling a story and providing two worksheets - one retelling the story in a simplified form and one detailing tasks for pupils to fulfill.
"Story Readers" are a Religious Education resource for teachers involved in teaching primary years 7-11. They have been designed to assist specialists and non-specialists alike by providing various types of information, suggestions and child-centred material in the form of a Teacher's Book and a set of accompanying worksheets. The Teacher's Book is divided into chapters, each of which centres around one story, which has been written to be read aloud to the class. Background information and extension work sections give further indications of how the story may be used across the curriculum. In addition, there is an index of themes and a concept and skills chart to help teachers using these learning structures today. There are two worksheets for each story: one retells, in a simplified form, the Teacher's Story; and the second gives tasks centred around the story in order to develop key skills.
