A pack of large, full-colour picture code cards featuring all the lower case Letterland characters. With pictograms on one side and plain letters on the reverse, these cards help children make the transition to plain letter identification.

Contained in the pack are 46 double-sided flashcards of all the lower case letters, the five long vowels or Vowel Men, extra short vowels, and extra double consonants, known as the ‘best friends’.

Essential for introducing the Letterland characters, these cards are also an invaluable tool for word building, in particular, for ‘live spelling’ or 3D word-building. Numerous suggestions for use are provided with the cards.

Lyn Wendon is a reading specialist who devised Letterland as a remedy for reading failure. Working among children with learning difficulties, she found that they needed a style of teaching that not only explained letter behaviour, but also fired their imaginations. The result was Letterland!
