The title of this book, 'You are not ordinary in the Hands of God', summarizes a life-changing truth. Everyone, no matter their background, status or failures, carries extraordinary potential when surrendered to God's divine purpose. The world often defines people by their limitations; what they lack, their mistakes, or their shortcomings. Yet, in God's hands, these limitations become opportunities for miracles and weaknesses that are transformed into strength.
This book invites you on a journey of discovery, showing that no one is insignificant in God's eyes. It draws from biblical examples, including the lives of individuals like Zacchaeus, Gideon and Mary Magdalene, to demonstrate how God specializes in using those deemed unworthy, unqualified or ordinary to fulfill extraordinary purposes. These stories reveal that what sets people apart is not their ability, but their availability; an open heart ready to trust God.
God's hands are the ultimate place of transformation. Just as a potter shapes clay into a masterpiece, so too does God take the broken, discarded, or ordinary and molds them into vessels of honor. Through personal stories, practical lessons and biblical insights, this book challenges readers to let go of self-doubt, embrace God's calling, and recognize that their uniqueness is by divine design.
In the hands of God, every talent, trial, and triumph is purposeful. The book emphasizes that you are not defined by society's standards but by the One who created you. When you align with his vision, you discover that you are far from ordinary. You are a vessel through which God's extraordinary love and power are revealed to the world. This book will encourage you to step into your God-given identity, knowing that with him, your life is destined for greatness.
In the midst of these, God will make you are a formidable giant before your enemies.
This is a declaration of spiritual authority, resilience, and victory. This book reveals the truth that believers are not weak or defenseless in the face of life's challenges. Instead, they are equipped with divine power to overcome every adversary and obstacle. It challenges readers to see themselves not as victims but as victors, destined to triumph through the strength of God.
This book highlights how even those who appear small in the eyes of the world can stand as mighty giants against their enemies. David, a shepherd boy, was seen as insignificant, yet his confidence in God turned him into a force that could not be defeated. This story reminds us that our strength does not come from physical stature, wealth, or influence but from the power of God working within us.
This book is powerful to inspire readers to recognize their inner strength, helping them confront challenges with confidence and resilience in the following areas:

YOU ARE NOT ORDINARY
This book is unique as we shall often use Zaccheaus, “the short man of Israel” as a case study. The re-known short man in the bible is Zaccheaus, yet he is bold and formidable before mockers and people that hated him. The visit of Jesus Christ in his house wasn’t ordinary, but extra ordinary as the Prince of Peace and the King of kings sat round the table with him. It was a tripartite relationship; involving Jesus, his disciples and him. It was a day of brainstorming that led to Holy Spirit filling his house.
People look down and laugh at Zacheaus for many years before he met Jesus. People will laugh at you it is not an attack it is a usual thing with men and women. Men are permitted to laugh until your result bail you out. Provided you have not produced result don’t be angry that men laugh and mock you. Mockery is a natural pathway to greatness. If you don’t find mockers on your way to breakthrough it means you are on the wrong path. Their presence validate you might be doing something right. So continue, when you emerge and get it right, thank God.
The day Jesus met him; he most likely preached heaven to Zaccheaus with word of wisdom and guidance to achieve good things of life. He may have discussed with him the power in prayer and fasting, the love for neighbors and friends, and the need to distance self from sin. Jesus may found humility in him and told him to do more, as pride goes before fall.
He was like a soldier running to take cover on the top of a tree. But it wasn’t so. He climbed to see the King of kings, and set himself free from the bondage of spiritual backwardness. He sat down stretched his leg expecting Jesus to pass by. He may not have been the only person trying to have glimpse of Jesus, but when Jesus got to the very spot he sat, he look up, called his name and ordered him to come down the tree. He was singled out among others. Jesus knew his name and his person. God knows us by name. He knows you by name and can call you by name anytime. He said to Jeremiah, before you were formed I knew you. He knows our body chemistry in detail. "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations." Jeremiah 1:5.
ZACCHEAUS MOVED FROM GRASS TO GRACE
Zaccheaus, a tax collector in Jericho, was a man of wealth but also one of scorn. Tax collectors in that time were seen as traitors to their people, as they worked for the Roman government and often enriched themselves by overcharging the populace. He was a "short man, small, broken and marginalized despite his wealth. His encounter with Jesus, however, marked a dramatic transformation. Hearing that Jesus was passing through Jericho, he was driven by curiosity or perhaps a deeper hunger for change. He climbed a sycamore tree just to catch a glimpse of him. The lesson here is, be eager to achieve what others think is impossible. He did not bargain to speak with Jesus but to see him among the crowd. His boldness to climb the sycamores tree brought him face to face with Jesus.
When Jesus saw him, he did not condemn or ignore him, as many would expect for a notorious sinner. Instead, Jesus said, "Zacchaeus, come down immediately. I must stay at your house today". This invitation alone was an extraordinary act of grace. In ancient Jewish culture, sharing a meal with someone was a sign of acceptance and fellowship. For Jesus, the holy man, to enter the home of a sinner like his, was unheard of, but it showed that grace is not limited by social status or past sins. The grace of God seeks the lost, the broken, and those rejected by the society.
Zacchaeus’ response to this grace was immediate and transformative. He declared, "Look, Lord! Here and now I give half of my possessions to the poor, and if I have cheated anybody out of anything, I will pay back four times the amount" Luke 19:8. This was more than restitution. It was repentance. Zacchaeus, who had lived for wealth, was now willing to part with it, showing that he had received a deeper treasure, the grace of God.
Jesus said, "Today salvation has come to this house" Luke 19:9, meaning he moved from "grass to grace." He was embraced by God's grace, transformed into a man of generosity and righteousness. His story reminds us that no matter how far one may fall or how despised one may be; an encounter with Jesus can bring complete restoration and renewal. God reached down to lift the lowly, giving him dignity, forgiveness and a new life in Christ.
He is now on the winning side of life. He retains his sense of faith and purpose where others will make his stature limit him. His stature makes him feel complete by climbing the tree. If he is tall he may not have been chosen to feast with Jesus. He never had regrets but praise God.
He suddenly became an uncommon colorful man, a cerebral and intelligent person to the core, a man of high caliber, an advocate of accountability who added efficiency to effectiveness in the pursuit of knowing Christ and make heaven. He came, saw and conquered. His encounter with Jesus freed him from captivity of loneliness. He brought domestic skills on the table with Christ and his disciples. He saw his house as a theater of love with baritone of love. Indeed, his cautious manners and orderly attitude won the day. He set a standard everyone aspires to emulate. He played the role of the perfect host as he moved round to ensure everyone at the dinner was comfortable. Zaccheaus developed the character of a peaceful, loving, caring and accommodating person.
We were not told; he became one of the disciples of Jesus after all, but he knew Jesus better and was transformed in character and in value. His vision became clear. He developed solid foundation that made him grow at a pace that is satisfactory to mankind and heaven. He became someone others tap from. He is a sinner; who became the follower of Jesus. To confess giving back four fold what he wrongly acquired is a testimony of discouraging thieves off the road. He was a human capital developer, who safe guard society from human failings. He lifted soul out of the valley of corruption and vanity.
The bible says the righteous shall be great. "The path of the righteous is like the morning sun, shining ever brighter till the full light of day."
Proverbs 4:18. This is a powerful reminder of the progressive nature of righteousness and the life of those who walk in alignment with God's will. Just as the morning sun grows brighter and more radiant as it rises to its peak, so too does the life of a righteous person grow in clarity, purpose and blessing. You are inspired of hope, growth and perseverance, as it emphasizes the continuous journey toward spiritual and personal fulfillment. It reassures us that walking in righteousness leads to ever-increasing light, dispelling darkness and confusion and guiding us toward God's perfect plan.
For him to love and have encounter with Jesus, whatever he lays hand upon shall be prosperous. He shall drive the economy of Israel far than expected, even if industries weren’t set up then, he set up positive human minds; a moral industry. He partners with Jesus to achieve greatness and make others great as well.
There is no doubt that he was a great man. He encountered a great man in the person of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. He attained greatness in his discussion with Christ. His understanding grew with time. What else? He breathes understanding and wisdom and ate food of righteousness with Jesus. He danced a dance of joy before Jesus, spoke wisdom and practiced righteousness. When he met the righteous man called Jesus, the opportunity came and he grabbed it with both hands. Wonderful Zaccheaus indeed!
He meant well and knew his future is bright by coming close to Jesus. He was an incurable optimist. He knew if he does what Jesus tells him, his future will be bright. Hence, he did what he has to do before Christ and quickly capture the future. He was in the same page and boat of life with Jesus the day Jesus came visiting him. Don’t allow your foundation threaten you. Coming from poor background is never the end of the road.
Many things affect people’s courage and affects level of boldness. Sometime, the thought of the family you are coming from can hurt you. The thought of your nationality or the thought of your school are important but not final. Many of you went through schools you were bigger than. Many of you formed peers at early stage with friends you are bigger than. While with them or in school you were bigger than them but you don’t know. But as you step out the corridor of life things began to change, until you eventually arrived. At last, you are they boast of. You that look down on yourself become a giant to be reckoned with. It is not the type of school or people you move with that dictates the last chapter of you but how best you manage your life. You can be with people you call better, but are far behind information, love and destiny. Their influence in you may not hold water. Destiny is bigger than all those things.
HAVE FELLOWSHIP WITH JESUS
Zaccheaus identified his need, to see Jesus, really, he did not only see Jesus, but hosted him. As he climbed the sycamore ladder of greatness, he knew what he needs. He got it. He focused on his need without distraction. As you climb ladder of greatness, it is essential you know, and write down what you need along the line. It will enable you set your priority well. When...
