Tirée de « L'Astronomie populaire ou description des corps célestes avec atlas en tableaux transparents composé de 12 planches coloriées à l'usage des gens du monde. Cinquième édition soigneusement revue », publiée en 1879 par la librairie franco-belge Klessling, cette carte, qui reprend une planche de John Emslie et James Reynolds, recense neuf comètes répertoriées entre 1577 et 1835 et deux « pluies d'aérolithes » des années 1830.
Comets and Aerolites
From « Popular Astronomy or Description of Celestial Bodies with an Atlas in Transparent Tables, Composed of 12 Coloured Plates for the Use of People of the World. A Carefully Revised Fifth Edition », published in 1879 by the Franco-Belgian bookshop Kiessling, this map lists nine comets recorded between 1577 and 1835 and two « showers of aerolites » from the 1830s.
