After hosting a birthday pub crawl across several historic real ale pubs in London, author Thomas was inundated with requests from friends to make it a regular occurrence, he compiled a handy guide that has taken social media by storm with: Historic Pub Crawls Through London I and Historic Pub Crawls Through London II.
Following the success of his books and national demand for more walks, Thomas has published further titles in the series covering England, Ireland, and New York and now he returns with Historic Pub Crawls Through Scotland.
Whether you enjoy a traditional ale or a Scotch, or are simply fascinated by the rich Scottish history that gravitates around the country's drinking holes, you'll enjoy this organised guide of walks ranging from 10 to 15 pubs across some notable landmarks.
With routes in across Scotland, taking in major cities such as Edinburgh, Glasgow and Aberdeen. Each route comes complete with a comprehensive breakdown of facts ranging from the fascinating to the irreverent as you wind your way through various sites and each welcoming tavern.
Starting and ending very close to one of the city's train stations, with easy to follow directions for every route. All pub details are provided so you can whip out your phone to guide you should you wish to plot your own path.

Thomas has been running a pub crawl for his birthday almost every year since his mid-twenties. In the summer of 2023 he compiled and self-published 13 routes into the first book in a series of titles covering Historic Pub Crawls. His elevation to social media sensation is something of a change after spending over two decades in technology corporates and startups. As well as visiting, filming and writing about pubs he plays guitar and piano, likes tattoos and wears crazy trousers and yellow shoes. He was raised in North West London, where he still lives, with easy access to the city pubs.
