Ravi Kant Upadhyay earned his PhD in Zoology (Insect Biochemistry) on 'Cholesterol absorption in locusts' from the University of Delhi joint registration with NII, New Delhi, India, in 1997. His research focuses on cholesterol metabolism in insects and the role of cholesterol-binding proteins. He has also worked on animal toxin purification and antibody production, antimicrobial activity of plant compounds, and termite control using plant-based formulations. He is a Professor & Head, Department of Zoology at Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gorakhpur University, India. He has over 227 international publications, delivered numerous lectures, and completed several government-sponsored research projects. Additionally, he reviews for over 37 journals and serves on more than a hundred editorial boards.Nidhi Yadav completed her PhD in Zoology in 2025 from Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gorakhpur University. Awarded a DST/INSPIRE Fellowship, she researches 'Ixodid Toxin Peptides' and has published 12 high-impact papers. Her interests include isolating and neutralizing animal toxins using polyclonal antibodies.
