Torres is Professor in the Department of Kinesiology, Sport Studies and Physical Education at The College of Brockport, State University of New York, USA. He is a former President of the International Association for the Philosophy of Sport. He has been elected as a Fellow of the National Academy of Kinesiology and is a recipient of the State University of New York Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Scholarship and Creative Activities. He is the Associate Editor of the Journal of the Philosophy of Sport. David M. K. Sheinin is professor of history at Trent University and a member of the National Academy of History in Argentina.
