Exploring the fascinating stories of some of the lesser-known princesses throughout British history.
Feted in their early days as some of the most dazzling and interesting women of their generation, all six of Britain’s Forgotten Princesses had virtually vanished from public view by the time of their deaths. What became of Queen Victoria’s artistic granddaughter who relinquished her Royal title and style in 1919? Why did the niece who gave Queen Mary sanctuary during World War II fade into obscurity? And how did Mrs Simpson – the woman who rocked the modern monarchy – become a bedridden recluse?
Britain’s Forgotten Princesses chronicles the lives and particularly the later years of six female member of the British Royal Family whose lives were inextricably linked to a succession of monarchs. Covering the period from the late nineteenth century to the twenty-first century, this is a fascinating insight into the lives and legacies of some of the most intriguing members of the modern Royal family.
