Attentive observers of winter sports have noticed in recent years that the once rapidly growing snowboarding scene is currently in a phase of stagnation following a downturn. This paper examines the current developments, changes and trends in snowboarding. The introductory section of this study presents the history and structure of snowboarding. It also shows the number of participants, snowboard sales figures and the development of scene affiliation among young people.
