"Material World" is the first in a series of home sewing books geared toward do-it-yourself enthusiasts and crafters who have an interest in interior design. The new home sewer has changed considerably over the past decade with the increase and popularity of home makeover shows and the reduced cost of owning a sewing machine. Most readers view sewing the same way they look at knitting and crocheting - as a fun and relatively inexpensive way to create their own looks. "Material World" assumes working knowledge of a sewing machine with the basic construction techniques for the fun 50 projects. Each project shows the reader how to take inspiration from everyday items or the tear sheet from your favourite home decor magazine and bring a little piece of it into their homes.
Cat Wei is an architect, interior designer, television host, design consultant, and an inspiringly creative person, with a full resume of design-related jobs and projects.
