This empathetic guide gradually walks you through the steps to recovery from emetophobia, starting with being able to read "that word" without discomfort. Each step is designed to be taken at your own pace, with no pressure to race ahead and "finish", but rather to mindfully extend your comfort zone at a sustainable rate.
Emetophobia is not simply a fear of vomiting. In severe cases, it can invade every aspect of a person's life, making them avoid having children, rigorously restrict their diets or stop eating almost entirely, and limit their social activities due to fear.
In this empathetic guide, clinical counsellor and emetophobia expert Anna Christie shares how emetophobia controlled her life for years, and how she finally overcame it for good. The book gradually walks you through the steps to recovery, starting with being able to read "that word" without discomfort. You may have lived with emetophobia for years. You may even have tried to overcome it before, without success. This guide will help you to take the next step in your recovery journey and make real progress towards overcoming emetophobia.
