For the past 34 years, he has been dedicated to training in Asian martial arts, with a particular focus on the styles of the Korean Peninsula. His martial arts journey began with Japanese Shotokan Karate, later leading him to study Shaolin Kung Fu, various full-contact styles, and throughout it all, he remained committed to the Korean martial art WonHwaDo. Since 1996, in addition to his own training, he has also worked as an instructor. The experiences he gained during this time have been compiled into several specialized publications. Winter is also the author of the book "The Korean Martial Art WonHwaDo for Beginners" (2012).
