Everything parent carers need to know about engaging with health, social care and education systems for autistic children and young people with developmental delay. Written by a highly experienced team of mental health professionals and parent carers, it shows you how to advocate for your child and create a support system for your family.
This essential guide answers the questions parent carers have before and after a child's autism diagnosis and looks at how you can most effectively seek help from support services, family and your wider community.

Written by a highly experienced author team with both professional and lived experience, this book will help you navigate social care, healthcare and education. It provides reliable advice on how to advocate for your family, and how to challenge services when necessary to get the best possible care for your child. There are practical strategies for those times when third party support is not available.

With advice and summary points to dip in and out of as needed, you will learn how to work together as a family unit, creating a robust support system for your autistic child into their young adulthood.
