Essex as a county is more than 1000 years old.

Once in Essex, Now in London, examines how eleven
London boroughs in Essex became five new London Boroughs in the new Greater

(GLA). Presently the GLA is headquartered in new City Hall on the banks of the
old Essex boundary the River Lea.
Once in Essex, Now in London has the rich and diverse
history. In a series of chapters, set in more or less chronological order, the
book attempts to bring to life personalities and events over a thousand years..
