The town has become one historical site richer, with excavation and restoration of the former "jewish bath" at Löwengasse 1. The patron of ths project is Melanie Metzger who acquired the house in order to excavate the mikveh, as the Jewish bath is called, together with her partner Werner Reuling. "Miltenberg´s mikveh" is estimated to be approximately 600 years old. According to Joachim Bieber, the town of Miltenberg has had a Jewish community since its founding.

Werner Reuling was born in Miltenberg in 1955. Until 2020 he worked as a freelance restorer, also for the Miltenberg Museum. In 2002 he uncovered and restored the mikveh, which had been buried and destroyed since 1938. The mikveh in Miltenberg has been open to visitors since 2004.
