James Shaw has studied the art of tai chi for twenty years. Since 1992 he has been working with riders, on and off their horses, teaching them specific tai chi exercises designed to improve their riding. James has presented classes and workshops at the top dressage shows across the United States and has held clinics in the United Kingdom. He is particularly noted as tai chi instructor to international dressage rider Betsy Steiner and has recently appeared with Betsy in a series of articles in Dressage Today on rider fitness. James currently has a videotape entitled Tai Chi for the Equestrian which has proved popular with riders through the United States and in Australia and England. He lives in Arizona
