A Confluence of Witches aims to highlight how witchcraft has always been a diverse, constantly evolving, culturally specific practice with many lineages and rich traditions. It features essays, spells, and reflections from witches, traditional healers, herbalists, and artists on themes of magical activism, animism, and merging ancient practices with modern technologies, among other mystical subjects. The diverse representation of contributors will honor and celebrate the multicultural and multivalent ways that the witch operates within our society.
With an increased interest in and practice of witchcraft comes a greater need for authentic sources of wisdom that are culturally relevant and sensitive to the many lineages and traditions of witchcraft, healing work, and magic. A Confluence of Witches provides insights and perspectives from a diverse range of people who in one form or another identify as a “witch.” The anthology’s contributors are diverse, representing the African diaspora, Indigenous, Latine, and Romani traditions, as well as voices from the LGBTQ witch community—each with their own sacred blend of spirituality to share. These voices come together to illuminate the multitude of ways one can practice.

Aja Daashuur is a psychic, medium, and spiritual counselor who specializes in connecting you with the guidance and wisdom of your unique spiritual team. As a renowned WOC medium, Aja has conducted over five hundred workshops and retreats across the country. She is a contributing author to Confluence of Witches and has been featured in Vogue, NPR, Well+Good, the Los Angeles Times, Yoga Journal, and The Cut. Star Feliz (they/them) is an artist, herbalist, and the founder of Botánica Cimarrón, a Los Angeles-based wellness brand. Descended from the Afro-Taino cimarrónes of the Bahoruco Mountains in the Dominican Republic, Star carries the wisdom of generations.Star Feliz has performed and exhibited nationally and internationally, including The Kitchen, New York, NY; The Oregon Contemporary, Portland, OR; The Horse Hospital, London, UK; among others. They have been awarded numerous fellowships, residencies, and grants, including ACRE, Steuben, WI; Mohn LAND Grant, Los Angeles, CA; and the AiR at the Ace Hotel, Los Angeles, CA. They’ve taught at The Golden Dome School, Confluence of Witches, the Philosophical Research Society, and Herban Cura, and their work has been featured in Architectural Digest, the Los Angeles Times, and the anthology A Confluence of Witches (Weiser Books, 2024), as well as Taschen’s Library of Esoterica series. They are a graduate of the MFA program at UCLA’s Interdisciplinary Studio. In 2025 they are looking forward to presenting a new commission for a group exhibition at the Hammer Museum.
