Jeremy King is one of the world’s leading restaurateurs. In this brilliant new book he shares wit and wisdom from his 40-year career and gives us deep insight into some of life’s most intriguing issues

Food for Thought offers a series of life lessons which are applicable to all, based on Jeremy King’s own illustrious career and a belief that everything we need to know about life can be learned through restaurants and hospitality.

From Altruism to Decision-making, and from Mentoring to Delegation, Jeremy covers a fascinating range of topics, all elaborated with witty anecdotes and sharp analysis.

With a dazzling cast of characters, including Lauren Bacall, Princess Diana, Madonna and Lucien Freud, Food for Thought will appeal to the leadership and business market as well as to the general reader looking for a behind-the-scenes glimpse of an extraordinary world.

Jeremy King was Searcy’s youngest ever manager at the age of 21. Although headhunted to run a restaurant, wine bar and wine importing business, he soon returned to his passion for restaurants with the arrival of American restaurant Joe Allen in London, where he was Maître d’Hôtel. Together with Chris Corbin, the pair have created some of the most iconic and highly-regarded establishments in London, including The Wolseley, The Delaunay, Brasserie Zédel, Colbert, Fischer’s, Bellanger and Soutine. Prior to opening The Wolseley, Chris and Jeremy owned and managed some of London’s most famous restaurants, including Le Caprice, The Ivy and J Sheekey. Jeremy was awarded an OBE in the 2014 for services to the hospitality industry and voluntary services to the Arts.
