Donald Thompson (Ph.D., University of Iowa) was one of the founders of the University of Puerto Rico Music Department, which he later chaired. He is the compiler of Music in Puerto Rico: An Anthology, also from Scarecrow Press. Annie F. Thompson (Ph.D., Florida State), formerly a music librarian, directs the University of Puerto Rico SLIS. Her Checklist of Musical References in Puerto Rican Newspapers and Journals (1808-1898) is also published with Scarecrow Press.
