RICHARD WILFORD is the manager of Garden Design at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew. He has a particular interest in bulbs and is a member of the Royal Horticultural Society’s Bulb Committee. He writes extensively for Kew Magazine and Gardens Illustrated, amongst other publications. The Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew has cultivated plants for more than 250 years.
