Hannah Rainey had a fairly simple life. Her parents married quickly in their youth and Hannah was born a month after their wedding day. All seemed well, but the spark in their marriage didn't last for very long and Hannah's parents divorced when she was just a toddler. Hannah went to live with her mother and her mother's new boyfriend, who didn't seem to have a parental bone in his body. After suffering at the hands of his physical and emotional abuse for years, she was finally saved by her father. An already anxious child, Hannah developed PTSD from her time with her mother and was forced to face the horrors of her childhood.
Life on High Alert traces the journey of a young woman, working with her body and mind, to find her place in the world.

Autor

Hannah Rainey is the founder of the award-winning mental health blog "Little Thoughts," where she has chronicled her recovery from complex post-traumatic stress disorder. She is a frequent contributor to HuffingtonPostUK and has written for Thought Catalog. This is her first book, and she lives in Kent, England.
