Shelagh Ryan grew up in Brisbane, Australia and experienced a cooking epiphany when she moved to foodie Melbourne. She moved to London in 2008, where she set up the Lantana Café - London’s first truly Australian café - in fashionable Shoreditch, winning Time Out’s 2010 ‘Best Café’.
