Everything Old is New Again!

Living a vintage life is mindful, sentimental, cyclical, and always unexpected. Told with respect for those who've left artifacts for all of us to find, Vintage Living touches a chord with all who orbit the thousands of flea markets, antique shops and auctions of the world. Designer Bob Richter honors the love, passion, and value of beautiful things from the past and imparts advice on what to look for and how to incorporate vintage items into your life and your home in a way that feels integrated--not outdated. He takes you to the best flea markets around the country, offers up essential tips on haggling etiquette, bargaining success, and estate sales expectations. From caring for treasures to decorating to giving vintage gifts to celebrating the holidays to finding vintage clothing to cooking vintage recipes, Bob Richter shows how to get the most out of treasures from the past and live a modern-vintage lifestyle.

Bob Richter's passion for collecting vintage items began as a boy. Regularly featured in media outlets including the New York Times, Entertainment Weekly, The Huffington Post, The Associated Press, Redbook, the Boston Globe, FOX, CBS, ABC, and HGTV, Bob delights in sharing antiques, design, and bargaining advice. As "The Designer" and breakout star of the PBS series Market Warriors, Bob uses his personality and expertise to strike deals at flea markets all over the country and he remains a fan favorite. He also hosts Flea Market Minute and Minute Makeover. As a correspondent for The Huffington Post, he writes for the Home, Style, Travel, and Arts sections. He is also a Tastemaker for "Vintage and Market Finds" on the high-end shopping portal One Kings Lane where he curates special sales with art, antiques, and rescued objects. Specializing in a marriage of comfort and smart design, Bob offers up a fresh take on living with "stuff." His tongue-in-cheek mantra, "More is More," speaks to his love of art and antiques, which he culls from around the globe. As a contributor to PBS.org, Bob has profiled Pop Artist Peter Max, written about art pottery, WWII collecting, vintage Christmas decor, vintage clothing, and more. He has also served as Guest Editor of NYCArts and offers antiques advice in eHow and The Intelligent Collector.
